Incorporating Graph Automata into Plant Growth Simulation with Nutrients Transport

چکیده
In this paper we model the growth of living plants in a discrete approach, the graph automata based plant model representing each metamer of the plant as node of the automata. The allocation and transport of carbon, water and nitrogen among metamers, as an emergent property, resulted from the strategy of local pressure equilibrium between adjacent neighbors using discrete pressure-flow kinetics which were found to be suitable to describe mass flow in discrete space. Simulation results show that the graph automata based parallel approach can deal with carbon transport and allocation effectively.

Effects of EC and Fertigation Strategy on Water and Nutrient Uptake of Tomato Plants
In this study, water and nutrient uptake from the substrate and responses of the crop to fertigation strategies were analysed. In an experiment and simulation study, the amount and frequency of fertigation and electrical conductivity (EC) of the fertigation water were changed for a tomato crop grown on rockwool. In a climate chamber, tomato plants were grown on rockwool while five different EC ...
متن کاملA Novel Approach for Detecting Relationships in Social Networks Using Cellular Automata Based Graph Coloring
All the social networks can be modeled as a graph, where each roles as vertex and each relationroles as an edge. The graph can be show as G = [V;E], where V is the set of vertices and E is theset of edges. All social networks can be segmented to K groups, where there are members in eachgroup with same features. In each group each person knows other individuals and is in touch ...
متن کاملEFFECTS OF MAGNETIC FIELD ON THE RED CELL ON NUTRITIONAL TRANSPORT IN CAPILLARY-TISSUE EXCHANGE SYSTEM
A mathematical model for nutritional transport in capillary tissues exchange system in thepresence of magnetic field has been studied. In this case, the cell is deformed. Due to concentrationgradients, the dissolved nutrient in substrate diffuses into surrounding tissue. Theanalytical method is based on perturbation technique while the numerical simulation is basedon finite difference scheme. R...
متن کاملMaximum Plant Uptakes for Water, Nutrients, and Oxygen Are Not Always Met by Irrigation Rate and Distribution in Water-based Cultivation Systems
Growing on rooting media other than soils in situ -i.e., substrate-based growing- allows for higher yields than soil-based growing as transport rates of water, nutrients, and oxygen in substrate surpass those in soil. Possibly water-based growing allows for even higher yields as transport rates of water and nutrients in water surpass those in substrate, even though the transport of oxygen may b...
متن کاملCross-Talk Between Plant Nutrients and Their Relationship to Other Physiological Processes
into a variety of important compounds with structural and physiological roles in plants. We summarize how plant nutrients are linked to many metabolic pathways, plant hormones and other biological processes. We also focus on nutrient uptake, describing plant–microbe interactions, plant exudates, root architecture, transporters and their applications. Plants need to survive in soils with mineral...
